On the use of Artificial Intelligence

On the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), we adhere to the position of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), therefore:

1. Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies cannot be included as authors or co-authors of an article.
2. Authors who use generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in writing, producing images, graphic elements or in data collection and analysis must be transparent.
3. The Materials and Methods section (or similar) of the manuscript is where it should be specified which generative AI or AI-assisted technologies were used and how they were used.
4. Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscript, even for parts produced by an artificial intelligence tool. They are therefore responsible for any breach of publication ethics.
