Discussions around video games in Venezuela

Abstract

In today's world, technologies have overtaken entertainment activities, encompassing the video game industry and the development of digital communities and cultures. The present investigation was oriented to look for the state of the art and to contrast positions with respect to the studies on this topic in the repositories of SaberUCV, SaberUCAB and SaberULA of Venezuela. They were classified into the following fields of influence according to the interaction with the user: 1) Health area. 2) Influence of video games on personal and interpersonal development. 3) Consumption and preferences. 4) Games content and design area 5) Technology area. 6) Video game industry in Venezuela. Thus, from the literature found, video games can be considered as an interactive system whose general characteristic is user entertainment, however it has an accelerated development that over the years has grown in recognition, highlighting a very wide potential with attributes and properties that diverge from the player experience, passing through interpersonal and family relationships until influencing the development of industry and society.

Docente colaborador del Taller TADISCO para la mejora y actualización de programas académicos en la Facultad.
