Respuesta de países de América Latina y el Caribe en asistencia alimentaria ante el COVID-19

Resumen

 La presente revisión surge en vista de la emergencia sanitaria ocasionada por el COVID-19 y la serie de dinámicas que afectaron la seguridad alimentaria en la población de América Latina y el Caribe. El estudio se circunscribe en el diseño bibliográfico, de tipo documental y nivel descriptivo realizándose indagación, recolección, selección, organización y revisión sistemática de documentación diversa y asociada al tema, analizándose las evidencias encontradas respecto a las estrategias de atención alimentaria que aplicaron y aplican los países de la región en la pandemia del COVID-19. El objetivo del presente trabajo es describir las estrategias de asistencia alimentaria de emergencia que abordaron y abordan los países para mitigar los riesgos de inseguridad alimentaria. Primeramente, se encontraron datos para 11 países, luego reseñas de los Gobiernos de 33 países de América Latina y el Caribe y su actuación frente a la pandemia de COVID-19, algunos adoptaron e implementaron medidas y/o respuestas de asistencia social dirigida a la población vulnerable. La investigación es importante, porque evidencia cómo, los paises de la región implementaron diversas estrategias para proteger el sistema alimentario y garantizar la seguridad alimentaria mediante: Programas de alimentación escolar, Canasta de alimentos, Transferencia monetaria y Asesoría en seguridad alimentaria.

ABSTRACT 

This review arises in view of the health emergency caused by COVID-19 and the series of dynamics that affected food security in the population of Latin America and the Caribbean. The study is circumscribed in the bibliographic design, of a documentary type and descriptive level, carrying out an inquiry, collection, selection, organization and systematic review of diverse documentation associated with the subject, analyzing the evidence found regarding the strategies of food attention that were applied and applied by the countries in the region in the COVID-19 pandemic. The objective of this paper is to describe the emergency food assistance strategies that the countries have addressed and address to mitigate the risks of food insecurity. Data were first found for 11 countries, then reviews of the governments of 33 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean and their actions in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, some adopted and implemented social assistance measures and/or responses aimed at the population. vulnerable. The research is important because it shows how the countries of the region implemented various strategies to protect the food system and guarantee food security through school feeding programs, food baskets, cash transfers and food security advice.
