Células Dendríticas Epidérmicas thy-1 positivas un nuevo grupo celular asociado con inmunovigilancia cutánea

Abstract

Las células dendríticas epidérmicas Thy-1 positivas (CDE Thy-1) son un tipo celular recientemente descubierto en la epidermis de ratones. Estas células se caracterizan por presentar en su superficie el antígeno Thy-1, que hasta 1975 se había encontrado sólo en timocitos y células nerviosas. Las CDE Thy-1 son de origen mesenquimático, derivadas de la médula ósea y comparten características comunes con ciertos grupos celulares como los melanocitos, células de Langerhans, células NK y linfocitos T. Las CDE Thy-1 expresan las glicoproteínas CD3 y gamma delta (T S) del receptor antigénico de linfocitos T, lo cual las relaciona consistentemente con este grupo celular. Hasta el presente se desconoce la función especifica de este nuevo tipo celular. Sin embargo, experimentos in vitro han demostrado que estas células presentan citotoxicidad frente a grupos de células tumorales. Por otra parte, pruebas in vivo demuestran que las CDE Thy-1 ejercen una función derreguladora en las respuestas de hipersensibilidad por contacto. Además su ubicación en el epitelio y la expresión del receptor antigenico TS, han permitido asociarlas a mecanismos de vigilancia inmunológica de la integridad cutánea a través del reconocimiento antigénico de proteínas de stress. SUMMARY Dendritic epidermal cells Thy-1 positive (Thy-1 DEC) are a newly discovered cell group present in the epidermis of mice. These cells are characterized by the expression of the Thy-1 antigen on their surface, which until 1975 was confined to thymocytes and nervous cells. The Thy-1 DEC are of mesenchymal origin and derived from the bone marrow. They share some features with me-lanocytes, Langerhans cells, NK cells and T lymphocytes. The Thy-1 DEC express the glycoprotein CD3 and the T cell antigenic receptor gamma delta (TS), relating them with Tb T cells. The specific function of Thy-1 DEC is unknown, however, in vitro experiments have demonstrated a downregulatory function in contact hypersensitivity reactions. Other characteristics such as the localization in the epithelium and the expression of the antigenic receptor TS, have further related these cells with immune surveillance of the skin via the recognition of the stress proteins.
