La revista cultural ilustrada durante el período Gomecista (1908-1935)

Abstract

En el período que transcurre entre 1908 y 1935 (años de la dictadura del general Juan Vicente Gómez) surgen múltiples revistas ilustradas que propagaban contenido de carácter cultural que merece ser compilado y estudiado (Fantoches, Biliken, La Alborada, Élite, Valvula, entre otras). Estas publicaciones periódicas constituyen un registro del momento histórico en el que fueron creadas, y algunas estuvieron influenciadas por los movimientos vanguardistas oriundos de Europa. Por ello se pretende realizar un trabajo de investigación de tipo cualitativo y carácter historiográfico con un diseño de investigación abierto y un nivel de indagación tanto exploratorio como descriptivo, donde se reseñe la historia de estas revistas, su papel dentro de la dinámica intelectual venezolana de las primeras décadas del siglo XX, en aras de contribuir a la creación de una bibliografía que sirva como material de documentación para los estudiantes interesados en el área de Periodismo Cultural.

In the period between 1908 and 1935 (years of Juan Vicente Gómez's dictatorship) multiple ilustrated magazines that propagated cultural contents, which deserve to be compiled and studied, were born (Fantoches, Biliken, La Alborada, Élite, Válvula, among others). These periodical publications constitute a register of the historical moment where they were created, and European avant-garde movements influenced some of them. Due to this reason, it is intented to write the history of these magazines through a qualitative historiographic investigation with an exploratory and descriptive level of inquiry. It is also intented to explain the role that they had in the Venezuelan intellectual dynamic during the first decadea of the twrintieth century. This idea arises in the name of contributing to the creation of bibliography that might be useful as documentation material for students interested in the area of cultural journalism.
